CTRI Launches Inaugural Guardian Program Cohort
March 8, 2026
On March 8, 2026, the Collective Threat Response Initiative conducted the first training day for Cohort 2601 — the inaugural class of the CTRI Guardian Program.
Members of the Washington DC Jewish community gathered at a private training facility in Virginia to begin the structured curriculum that will prepare them to serve as licensed Security Officers protecting synagogues, schools, and Jewish events across the greater DC region.
The session opened with welcome remarks, program overview, and a safety briefing before the cohort moved to the range for defensive pistol training — drawing from holster, engaging targets under movement, and building the foundational skills required of professional Security Officers.
Cohort 2601 represents the first operational class of the Guardian Program. Training will continue through the summer, covering advanced firearms, tactical medicine, de-escalation, and unified command doctrine.
